With just a few days left for the Tiwa Autonomous Council polls, election campaigns and rallies are in full swing. Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi, singer Babu Baruah and Raha constituency MLA Guneshwar Das were seen campaigning for fellow Congress party candidate, Krishna Hokai, at one such rally at Lutumari village, Nagaon.
During the rally, MP Pradyut Bordoloi said that the Tiwa Autonomous Council has a history of fooling and feeding lies to the general public. The MP said that Congress wanted to change this history of fraud and corruption. He also said that the Congress party members involved in corruption back in the day are now members of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Nagaon MP compared the BJP to a catfish and says that the party is devouring smaller indigenous communities of Assam like the catfish swallows smaller fishes. He claims that the BJP is trying to wipe these small communities out of existence.
Bordoloi goes on to say that for the overall development of the Tiwa community, it has become vital for the Congress to come out victorious in Tiwa Autonomous Council polls.
