Tommy is known for his comedic role as Deebo in the ‘Friday’ movie franchise

Popular actor Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister, known for his comedic role as Deebo in the ‘Friday’ movie franchise and as former wrestler ‘Zeus’, passed away at 62.

Lister was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this year and beat the virus. But he fell sick and had trouble breathing a week before his demise.

Cindy Cowan, Tommy Lister’s manager, revealed that he was found unconscious in his Marina Del Ray, California home on Thursday afternoon and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lister got the nickname ‘Tiny’ despite towering at 6’5 and being known for his tough-guy roles. He was well known for appearing in the ‘Friday’ movie series, apart from which he also appeared in the 1997 sci-fi hit ‘The Fifth Element’ and most recently in ‘The Dark Knight’ in 2008.

Apart from being a renowned actor, he also had short pro wrestling stints during which he wrestled on the main event WWE’s flagship show ‘SummerSlam’ and also appeared next to legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan in 1989’s ‘No Holds Barred’.
