Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has remained in the headlines for the past couple of months for her bold statements, verbal tiff with other actors, and unverified claims as jabs. However, the three-time national award-winning actress has been always known to speak her mind, doing which she has become a kind of an anti-establishment figure.

Calling Karan Johar the “flag-bearer of nepotism”
This is much before the whole country was banning star kids and Bollywood insiders. Kangana was promoting her film Rangoon on Karan’s chat show when she did not think twice and called the director the flag bearer of nepotism.
Kangana sharing her experience of assault
The actress had accused the Queen director Vikas Bahl of holding her “really tight” and smelling her hair whenever they met socially. This came after a crew member alleged that Bahl had assaulted her sexually in 2018.

Her nepotism point of view had opened floodgates of dialogue in the industry. When asked if she had managed to change filmmaker Karan Johar’s notion with her statement, Kangana had said it was not her intention to do that nor she wanted to start a revolution. It was only because everyone knew nepotism existed that her words worked as “catalyst” and the huge conversation began.

Spoke of harassment in the industry
Kangana has been vocal about the struggle of an outsider newcomer in Bollywood. She went on record in 2019 to recall how she would have to wait for six hours, have the schedule cancelled last minute, along not being invited to film events. She said often trailers were launched without her and her voice was dubbed without her consent.
Getting involved in a legal battle with Hrithik Roshan
Kangana was fearless with her battle against actor Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik filed a legal notice against Kangana for calling him her “silly ex” in an interview in 2016. However, the actress refused to do that and instead pushed him to take back his notice or face a criminal case.
