A young Delhi Capitals side will be eying their first ever IPL final as they take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1 of the Dream11 IPL 2020, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The winner of this encounter goes straight into the finals while the loser gets another chance as they play the winner of the Eliminator in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals had a tournament quiet different from that of Mumbai. They marched their way to 14 points, bagging 7 wins from their first 9 games. But then they lost 4 successive games. However, they returned to winning ways in their last league-stage game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to finish second on the points table to set up a clash against MI in the Qualifier 1.

We bring you some of the talking points going around ahead of this Qualifier 1.

The batting attacks

Both the sides are packed with a heavy bowling unit. The Mumbai Indians opening pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult have shared 43 wickets between them this season, while for the Delhi Capitals Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have 44 wickets between them. It will come down to the batting units, whose performance will play a decisive role in the Qualifier 1.

And on the basis of the recent form, Mumbai Indians have a slightly upper hand as their batting line-up seems a bit stable, while the Delhi Capitals line-up has been heavily dependent on Shikhar Dhawan.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s fitness

Ravichandran Ashwin’s fitness has been a massive concern for the Delhi Capitals as he has been on and off the field throughout the tournament. Even in the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore he went off the field as soon as he completed his four overs. So it will be very interesting to see whether or not Ashwin is fit to play in the XI.
