According to the latest health bulletin, Manipur has reported 156 deaths related to COVID-19

Imphal: Imphal: In the last 24 hours, Manipur reported six COVID-19 deaths and 205 new positive cases.

As per the latest health bulletin, the state registered 156 deaths and 17,809 positive cases.

The latest COVID-19 victims are from Thoubal (2), Churachandpur (2), Imphal West (1) and Tengnoupal (1). Two of them were declared dead at RIMS, one each at Raj Medicity and SDH Moreh, and two were in home isolation, informed additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.

The new COVID-19 positive cases include 198 persons from the general population with no travel history outside Manipur and seven personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

The locals are from Imphal West (93), Imphal East (27), Thoubal (27), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (7), Bishnupur (16), Kakching (2), Senapati (4), Churachandpur (7), Tamenglong (10), Jiribam (3) and Chandel (1).

All of them have been shifted to COVID-19 care facilities while necessary precautionary measures like contact tracing and containment process are in place, said Dr Mangang.

Meanwhile, a total of 212 infected persons were discharged from 20 various COVID-19 care centres in the last 24 hours and registered the present recovery rate to 75.35%.

So far, a total of 13,420 persons have recovered, and 4,233 remained as active cases.
