The Rajasthan Royals registered a comprehensive victory against the Chennai Super Kings beating them by 7 wickets, led by a solid unbeaten 98-run-partnership between Jos Buttler and Steve Smith at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, the Chennai Super Kings innings never really got going, after they lost four wickets inside 10 overs with just 56 runs on the board.

MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja added 51 runs for the fifth wicket but with not a lot of momentum in it as they took 44 deliveries for the same, and as they set themselves up for a good finish, MS Dhoni was runout for 28 trying to steal a second run off a midfield in the 18th over. Ravindra Jadeja top scored for the Super Kings with an unbeaten 35 off 30 balls, as they finished their innings with a pretty disappointing total of 125/5 on the board.

Coming out to chase a low total, the Rajasthan Royals faced an early scare as they lost three quick wickets right at the top, courtesy some brilliant swing bowling from Deepak Chahar as he completed his four overs on a trott picking up two important wickets and giving away just 18 runs.

It was an unbeaten 98-run-partnership off 79 deliveries between Jos Buttler and Steve Smith that made sure Rajasthan chase down the total by seven wickets and 15 balls to spare.
