The Kolkata Knight Riders were completely outplayed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore, as they were handed a massive 82-run-defeat at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. The Kolkata Knight Riders barely put up a fight as they went down in a pretty one-sided contest.

Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, the Royal Challengers Banglore got off to a decent start with Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal putting up a brisk 67-run-partnership for the first wicket. Padikkal was dismissed by Russell for 32 in the 8th over, which brought Virat Kohli out to the middle. Virat kept the scoreboard ticking with ones and doubles and by the halfway mark they reached 78/1
Aaron Finch didn’t last long as he was dismissed for 47 in the 13th over. But it was an AB de Villiers show from there on as he added 100 unbeaten runs with Virat Kohli in just 46 deliveries.
de Villiers just took on every KKR bowler as he scored a scintillating 73-not out off just 33 deliveries, very well supported by skipper Kohli with an unbeaten 33, as they posted a competitive total of 194 for the loss of just two wickets at the end of their 20 overs. The RCB managed to score 83 runs in their last five overs of the innings.
Coming out to chase a pretty big total, the KKR got off to a slow start which turned into a horrific one as they lost three wickets within the 10 over mark with just 61 runs on te board.
Shubhman Gill played a fighting 25-ball-34 before he was runout in the 10th over, and their skipper Dinesh Karthik was quick to follow as he was bowled in the very next over for just a single to his name.
Following the dismissal of their skipper, the KKR innings just collapsed like a pack of cards, as they kept losing wickets in quick intervals. KKR eventually managed to reach just 112/9 at the end of their 20 overs, thus falling short of the RCB total by 82 runs.
The KKR innings never really got going as no-one apart from Shubhman Gill contributed to the innings.
RCB now move up to the third position in the points table with five wins from seven games.
