The company has partnered with various local entrepreneurs as a part of the Delivery Service Partner program

On Saturday, Amazon India announces the expansion of its delivery network in the eight states of Northeast India. The company owns close to 60 delivery service partner stations in the region. Now, it has added several new pin codes to its delivery footprint just ahead of the festive season.

This new pin codes include Champhai, Kolasib, Lumding, Pasighat, and Mokokchung. The company has partnered with various local entrepreneurs as a part of the Delivery Service Partner program which also enables these small businesses with growth opportunities, all along helping Amazon India to dive into tier 3 and tier 4 locations across Northeast India with its own delivery services.

Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Operations, Amazon India said, “We are confident that our continued investments in the North East will enable us to deliver on this promise. With the festive season right around the corner, we look forward to strengthening our presence in the region to reach a wider customer base and creating more work opportunities.”

With the help of Amazon’s global technology and the local expertise of the Delivery Service Partners, it enables the company to seamlessly manage any last-mile deliveries. This is also with many added services like exchange at doorstep, buyback and then return pick up at the doorstep.

For areas like Champhai, which acts as the main business corridor for Eastern India and neighbouring countries in the area, this new combination will enable a seamless shopping experience in an otherwise remote area. Regions with varying topographies like Tura valley and the urban centre of Mokokchung also fall under the new expansion.

Rochlani also added that the expansion is in line with their vision of making eCommerce a part of everyday life. Therefore they have strengthened their delivery network in Northeast India adding, “We are committed to serving our customers with a fast, safe and reliable delivery experience, no matter where they reside.”

In September, Amazon India had announced the addition of close to 200 Amazon operated and Delivery Service Partner stations, with a delivery network of 1700 stations across the country. With its flagship ‘I Have Space’ (IHS) program, the company has also strengthened its delivery programs and now comprises of more than 28,000 neighbourhood and Kirana in close to 350 cities.
