It was once again a night for the youngsters in the Indian Premier League as former India U-19n skipper Priyam Garg stole the show with a sparkling half-century, while 20-year-old Abhishek Sharma made his highest score for the franchise driving the SRH to a competitive total of 164 for 5, which eventually turned out to be a winning total, as the Chennai Super Kings fell short of the total by seven runs.

Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, the Sunrisers lost their opener Jonny Bairstow in the very first over with a swinging Yorker from Deepak Chahar. Manish Pandey joined David Warner as they added 47 runs before Manish Pandey was dismissed in the eight over.

The Sunrisers were left in a spot of bother as they lost two of their experienced middle order batsmen, David Warner(28) and Kane Williamson(9) in two consecutive deliveries with the score at 69/4.

It was the two young Indian players for SRH, Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma who added 77-runs for the fifth wicket. Priyam started off his innings with nudges and flicks, with Sharma being adventurous early on. Priyam then took off as he smashed Sam Curran for three fours and a six in the 17th over. Sunrisers added 64 runs in the last five overs as they reached a competitive total of 164/5 at the end of their 20 overs.

Coming out to chase a decent total, the CSK got off to a horrific start as they lost four wickets for just 42 runs. Faf du Plessis looked goodn in his 19-ball-22 but was runout by superb throw from Priyam Garg in the sixth over.

Jadeja joined Dhoni in the ninth over and steadied the ship for the CSK and added 72 runs for the fifth wicket. After the 16th over, Jadeja started to connect the ball sweetly and he soon reached his first IPL fifty, but was dismissed right after his fifty. Sam Curran smashed a massive one the very first ball he faced. CSK needed 44 runs in the last two overs. It was a dramatic finish as the CSK displayed a furious late assault , which got even more dramatic when needing 27 runs off the last over, young Abdul Samad bowled a wide which went for a four. Abdul Samad eventually did well to contain a tiring Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings fell seven short of the SRH target, thus facing their third consecutive loss in the season.
