In yet another curious reveal to the Hathras rape incident, member of the ill-fated family said that they were being stopped from speaking with the media from all sides as the administration has imposed section 144 of CrPC in the village.
On the morning hours, a minor from the victim’s family who was sent by the family members to reach out to the media in any way possible. The minor crossed farmlands to reach the media who were waiting outside the entrance of the village following Section 144.
The minor revealed that they have taken their phones and some were asked to switch it off. The minor added that it was with great difficulty that he was able to come and interact with the media as they are not allowing the family members to talk with the media. The minor added that they allegedly threatened them.
While the minor was speaking a police officer came and he fled the spot. Upon being asked by the media why the family members are barred from interacting with the media, the officer remained silent. Following this a verbal spat broke out between security and media.
According to UP Congress, CM Yogi Adityanath has banned the entry of media inside Hathras village as the latter had presented some important facts from the ground for the whole country to see. They tweeted in Hindi, “Today Yogi Ji has banned media’s entry inside the village because the media presented some important facts from the ground for the whole country. They have revealed things regarding Yogi Ji’s jungle raj. So now the media has been banned.”
The 20-year-old victim of the Hathras incident died in Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital. The post mortem report read that the victim had suffered a fracture of “C6 cervical vertebra” and there was “extravasations of blood along the fracture line” and the underlying spinal cord was “contused with ascending edema.” The report additionally denies rape charges.
