It’s just match number 10 in the Dream11 IPL 2020, and we already witnessed two Super Over finishes in the tournament so far. Just a day after the IPL witnessed the highest ever successful run chase in its history, the Royal Challengers Bangalore clinched victory against the Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in a thrilling Super Over on Monday. In what was a very high scoring game, both the teams could not be separated at the end of the 40 overs of play, as both the teams managed an exact score of 201 runs in their respective quota of 20 overs.

Put into bat first after losing the toss, the Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a flying start as the openers Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal put up a partnership of 81 runs for the first wicket, as Aaron Finch took on the Mumbai bowlers and Padikkal was quite happy to support the Aussie.

RCB lost two quick wickets as Finch was dismissed by Boult in the ninth over after scoring a brilliant 52 of 35 deliveries, soon to be followed by the RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for just three runs by Rahul Chahar.

Following Kohli’s dismissal, de Villiers and Padikkal put on a partnership of 62 runs for the fourth wicket as the young Padikkal brought up his second half century of the season with some elegant looking shots, before he was dismissed in the 18th over by Boult.

Shivam Dube and AB de Villiers added 47 runs in the last 17 balls of their innings as de Villiers brought up his half century and eventually remained unbeaten at 55 off just 24 deliveries and Shivam Dube scored a quickfire 27* off just 10 deliveries, smashing three big sixes in the last over, thus taking RCB past the 200-run mark and end their innings with 201/3.

Coming out to chase a big total in a big Dubai ground, the Mumbai Indians did get off to the kind of start that they would have wanted to, as they lost three quick wickets, with Rohit Sharma(8), Quinton de Kock(14) and Suryakumar Yadav(0) failed to deliver with the bat, and were reduced to 39/3 in seven overs, courtesy a brilliant opening spell from off-spinner Washington Sundar, who bowled three overs in the powerplay giving away just seven runs and picking up the big wicket of the Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan steadied the ship for Mumbai as they added 39 runs for the fourth wicket, but Pandya was dismissed in the 12th over with Mumbai struggling at 78/4.

Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard put a great 119-run-partnership of just 53 balls, as they almost turned around the match for Mumbai scoring 89 runs in the last five overs, which has been the highest in the history of IPL in terms of the last five overs.

Needing five runs to win of the last two deliveries, Ishan Kishan found Devdutt Padikkal in the deep and missed out on his first IPL hundred by just one run. Pollard scored a boundary off the last ball thus, equaling the score to the RCB total with 201/5 and propelling the match to a Super Over

In the Super Over for the Mumbai Indians, Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya came out to bat, but it was a sensational over from the Indian youngster, who held his nerve while bowling to the likes of Pollard and Pandya, as he speared in Yorkers at speeds over 140 Kph and restricted the Mumbai Indians at just 7/1. Bumrah once again had the massive task of defending a very low total for his team, with the likes de Villiers and Kohli in front of him, and Bumrah almost did it with almost getting de Villiers out caught behind, but was overturned with a referral and eventually Virat finished off the match with a boundary and clinching victory in a crunch game.
