Kohima: Three regions of the NSCN-IM, namely the Chakhesang region, Konyak region, and the Kuki tribal union have reaffirmed their support by saying that the Naga solution must include the Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution), without which it is “not acceptable”.

The tribal regions of the NSCN-IM also supported the Naga solution based on the historic Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015. Through the group’s MIP, the three region shared separate updates reaffirming its stand on the political issue.

While reaffirming its stand to support the Naga solution based on the historic FA, Zhokhoneyi Soho, caretaker of the CAO Chakhesang Region cautioned the Government of India (GoI) to “exercise democratic maturity and political will to give recognition to the Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution) which are the inherent identity of the Naga political movement”.

It said that “Naga solution without the Naga flag and Yehzabo (constitution) will be incomplete and unacceptable to the Naga people”.

The Konyak region, through a separate statement said that since the inception of the Naga revolutionary movement, Konyak Nagas has being one of the major tribes among the Nagas that played a crucial role along with the rest of the Nagas in the freedom movement.

It said that the “very climax of selfishness of the Indian and Myanmar are seen in the demarcation and erection of pillars in the heart of the Nagas-land without even taking into consideration the concern of the people of the land”.

According to them, this “treacherous act has tremendously hurt the pride and the sentiment of the people”. It said that many “deeds and agreements of the past has brought nothing but only further division and hatred were instilled in the minds of the people”.

“Until and unless we realised and pursue for the right cause we’ll be left at the mercy of our adversaries,” it said. The NSCN-IM (Konyak Region) added that it will firmly support the FA signed between the Centre and the NSCN-IM.

It further added that the Indo-Naga Political issue must be resolved peacefully on the basis of the uniqueness of the history to co-exist as two entities with separate Naga National Flag and Constitution.
