The death toll due to the virus has climbed to 64 in Manipur

Imphal: Manipur has reported another 178 persons infected with COVID-19 positive while 106 patients recovered on Monday. With this, the total positive cases in the state are 10,477 and recovered is 7,982.

In the last 24 hours, no death related to COVID-19 reported, however, death toll due to the virus has climbed to 64.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,431, including 482 security personnel, remained as active case and recovery rate is 76.18 per cent.

As per the latest health bulletin, 157 fresh cases were reported from the locals and 21 are the security personnel.

Among the new cases from the general population, only one person from Imphal West is a returnee and the rest 156 are declared as locally transmitted cases with no travel history. All of them have shifted to the COVID-19 care centers for further observation, it said.

The newly infected persons are from Imphal West (33), Imphal East (57), Bishnupur (2), Thoubal (17), Churachandpur (6), Kakching (6), Kangpokpi (3), Chandel (4), Tamenglong (17) and Noney (11).

Till date, a total of 3,81,941 people have screened and 2,34,066 persons have been tested for coronavirus in the state.
