It’s the Indian captain Virat Kohli versus the Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma tonight, as the Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in match number 10 of the Dream11 IPL 2020.
Mumbai Indians will come into this game with a lot of confidence on the back of a comprehensive victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders with skipper Rohit Sharma leading from the front hitting a quick 80 and Suryakumar Yadav scoring an attractive 47. The Mumbai pace battery has looked impressive with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and James Pattinson bowling well.
Meanwhile, RCB suffered a massive defeat at the hands of Kings XI Punjab as their batting failed to deliver miserably while chasing a big total, and they will surely want to turn that around tonight.
Ahead of the big game tonight, we bring some of the important talking points around this match.
Virat(RCB) vs Rohit(MI)
For the first time in this season we will witness two of the greatest batsmen in modern day cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma taking on each other. Both are among the top three run getters in the history of IPL and will surely look to add a few more tonight. While Rohit found form in his previous match against KKR, Virat is yet to make a mark this tournament, and with all the talks going on off the cricket field in the past couple of days, Virat would surely want to make it his night.
Chahal(RCB) vs Chahar(MI)
The contest between these two leggies will also be something to be watched out for. While Chahal has already proven it time and again his ability to take wickets in crucial times over the past few years now, Rahul Chahar, in his short IPL career has been very promising too. It will be very interesting to see both these leg spinner operate in a big Dubai ground in the middle overs for their respective sides.
Changes in the RCB squad
The RCB squad doesn’t seem to be clicking at the moment, although it is too early in the tournament to say so, but by the looks of it, they need to tweak their playing XI and set their balance right. Steyn’s figures in both the games have been really disappointing, especially after he went for 57 against the KXIP without picking up any wicket. RCB can take a look at the Sri Lanka pacer Isuru Udana in place of Steyn and Umesh Yadav could make way for Mohammad Shiraj. The RCB might also want to give a bit more strength to their bowling with bringing in Moeen Ali who will also give a bit more strength to their batting lower down the order.
Overall (25 matches – MI:16 | RCB:9)
MI and RCB have fared off against each other 25 times in the IPL so far and MI have the better numbers with 16 wins out of the 25 matches played whereas RCB have won only 9
Recent (Last 5 matches)
MI have a clear upper hand in the recent head-to-head numbers as well, with four wins against RCB in the previous five matches.
