Guwahati: The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will be hosting the sixth game of the Indian Premier League, where the KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab will take on the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangaore on Thursday evening.

The Royal Challengers will be very confident going into this game as they have already begun their campaign well with 10-run- victory against the Sunrisers and will look to seal their second win in a row.

Meanwhile, the Kings from Punjab are still to open their account this season, after losing their first match of the tournament against a young Delhi Capitals side in a super over. Rahul, going into the game as the captain of the side only for the second time, will surely want to register his maiden IPL win as a captain, and what better opportunity than to do it against a franchise he once played for.

Some important talks going around ahead of the game between KXIP and RCB.

Battle of the Karnataka boys
The Royal Challengers Bangalore officially represents Karnataka, and the team does have Devdutt Padikkal who hails from Karnataka. But, the fascinating thing to watch tonight will be the fact that, the KXIP who will fare off against the RCB have skipper KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Krishnappa Gowtham, Karun Nair and J Suchith in their team who hails from Karnataka. Add to that, KXIP has their Director of Cricket Operations in the form of India legend Anil Kumble, who also hails from Karnataka.
One can surely say that, it will be a battle of the Karnataka boys tonight in Dubai.

Virat Kohli(RCB) vs Mohammed Shami(KXIP)
With 5426 runs under his belt in 170 IPL innings, Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter in the history of the tournament. Virat has been the playmaker for RCB at the top of the innings over the years, and it will be a lip-smacking battle when he fares off against his in-from India team mate, Mohammed Shami. Shami was at his very best against the Delhi Capitals in their opening game as he picked up three crucial wickets giving away just 15 runs in four overs. Mohammed Shami has been absolutely phenomenal with his bowling over the past couple of year playing for India, and it will be an enthralling contest when he will be against his India skipper Virat Kohli, who is considered as the best batsman of the current times.

Mohammed Shami registered his best IPL figures on Sunday with 4-3-15 against Delhi Capitals

Glenn Maxwell(KXIP) vs Yuzvendra Chahal(RCB)
The middle overs in a T20 game are very very crucial for any team, be it the side batting or the side bowling. And we have seen it time and again how a good phase of cricket in the middle overs of a game can bring a team right back into the game. Tonight, as the KXIP take on the RCB, we are in for a treat, as we will have two of the best in the business faring off against each other in the middle overs.
Glenn Maxwell has the fourth highest strike rate in the IPL history with 160.5. Although he failed to deliver in their first match against the Capitals, we all know what he has done coming out to bat in the middle overs for Punjab over the years, couple that up with his brilliant international form, as he is back from a great series in the United Kingdom, scoring a match-winning 108 off just 90 deliveries pulling off a thrilling three-wicket victory in the series decider against England. But he will be battling it out against one of the best operators of spin bowling in world cricket, Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been a wicket taker for RCB in the middle overs. In the first game that RCB won against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, it was Chahal’s spell that brought RCB right back into the game from a position where everyone had almost given up. Chahal has one of the highest ratios of dot balls per over in the history of the IPL. It will literally the battle of the best tonight, with Maxwell against Chahal.

Chahal finished off with match-winning figures of 3/18 in the match against SRH
