Laurels pour in for actor Ayushmann Khurrana as he was the only Indian actor to make it to the Time 100 this year. The multitalented actor was named in the 100 most Influential People of 2020.
The actor took to Instagram to share how “honoured” he was to be listed in this group sharing it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was also named in the list. The Article 15 actor wrote, “TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential People in the world is out, I’m honored to be a part of this group: time.com/time100 @TIME #TIME100.”
Co-star Deepika Padukone even penned down praise for Khurrana in the magazine. She praised the actor for his talent and hard work which has made him a big star in India right now. She even went on to say that India with a population of more than 1.3 billion people sees their dreams come alive and Khurrana is one of them. Besides hard work and talent, “patience, perseverance and fearlessness” are also the characteristics of those who dare to dream big like the actor said Padukone.
Sharing about her first interaction with Khurrana, she wrote, “I remember Ayushmann Khurrana vividly from his debut film, Vicky Donor. He had, of course, been a part of the entertainment industry in various other ways for several years before that, but the reason you and I talk about him today is because of the impact he has been able to create through memorable films and iconic characters. Where male protagonist roles often fall into the trap of stereotypical masculinity, Ayushmann has successfully and convincingly transformed into characters who challenge those very stereotypes.”
With his debut as a sperm donor in Vickey Doner, to a blind man in Andhadhun, to a man suffering from erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, and a gay man in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, etc., the actor is well known for his versatile acting and his choice of characters. Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Article 15 and Dream Girl are also some of his well known works.
