Apple Store online went live in India on Wednesday, with a host of new services to meet consumer demand and also assist them in making the right choices. The online store will be providing customers not only the ability to purchase products directly from the Apple Store, but also get direct customer support as well as trade-ins, student discounts, and financing options.
Till now, Apple products have been sold through e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart and Apple authorised retailers, but now, interested shoppers can purchase their desired Apple products, including the very recently announced iPads and Apple Watch Series 6 and Watch SE, straight from the company store. Apple says they have partnered with Blue Dart and that all orders will ship within 24 to 72 hours; however, some of the products like Macs are currently showing shipping times of up to a month.
To start with, Apple will cover up to 13,000 PIN codes across the country and should add more codes to the list in the days to come. Further, there are some benefits for students to encourage online classes, financing options for interested shoppers, discounts on accessories and Apple Care+ benefits, an extended warranty programme with two years of technical support, and accidental damage cover.
Apple confirmed that due to the Covid-19 pandemic there’s no cash on delivery (COD) available for now. The company also claims that all orders will be delivered in a contactless manner.
With the online store Apple wants to deliver a unique customer experience to customers. Experts will take a note of customers’ requirements and then guide them to choose the right product that meets their needs. Not just that, the experts at the online store will also guide customers to set up the product and run it smoothly. Moreover once the product is purchased customers will also be able to book a free 30-minute counselling session with experts at Apple to get all their queries answered. The Apple online support is available in English while phone support is available in Hindi as well as English.
