All the four patients in Aizawl district, who belonged to a locality in the state capital, were diagnosed with Covid-19 during contact tracing while the rest three patients have returned from West Bengal and Assam, the statement said.
Two construction workers belonging to Border Road Organisation (BRO) were among the newly infected persons, it said.
Two of the seven patients have developed Covid-19 symptoms while the remaining 5 were asymptomatic, it added.
According to health department, there are 583 active cases in the state while a total of 1,002 people have already recovered.
The recovery rate on Monday was recorded at 63.22 per cent, which is lower than the national average of 79.68 per cent.
A health department official said that the state’s recovery rate is lower than the national record because it follows strict discharge protocols as Covid-19 patients are discharged only when they are declared fully recovered by treating doctors.
He said that the state government will soon notify new discharge protocols.
Mizoram has not reported any fatality due to Covid-19 till date.
