State's tally soar to 4178

Kohima: COVID-19 cases in Nagaland continue to spike as another 50 new cases have been detected on Sunday taking the state’s tally to 4,178. The state also reported 77 new recovered cases.

Among the new positive cases of COVID-19, 42 are from Dimapur, seven are from Kohima, and one is from Mon. Minister of health and family welfare S Pangnyu Phom informed that contact tracing have been activated by the Integrated Disease and Surveillance Programme (IDSP) team (IDSP) and that all primary contacts are kept under self isolation.

“Update! 50 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.

42 in Dimapur 7 in Kohima 1 in Mon. Contact tracing have been activated by our IDSP Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation,” the minister tweeted.


Meanwhile, another 77 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged on Sunday. Phom informed that among the new recovered cases, 76 are from Dimapur and one is from Kohima.

In a subsequent tweet, the minister wrote: “Update! State reports 77 recoveries of COVID-19 Patients.

76 in Dimapur & 1 in Kohima. However, all recovered patients will be kept under strict surveillance”.

Confirmed: 4178

Active: 662

Recovered: 3496

Death: 8

Migrated: 10

Besides the eight confirmed COVID-19 deaths, two deaths are COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19. Another five deaths are under investigation.
