Kohima: In a new development, the NSCN-IM and the Nagaland Goan Buras Federation (NGBF) has resolved to bring together all the Naga political groups for the larger political interest of the Naga people.

The NSCN team led by its Chairman Q Tuccu and Vice-Chairman Tongmeth Wangnao had a consultative meeting with leaders of Nagaland Goan Buras Federation (NGBF) led by its President Shahlem Konyak and General Secretary Shikuto Zalipu on Friday, an official update from NSCN-IM said.

They discussed the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process. Matters on Naga political affairs and the need to bring all warring Naga political groups together was discussed at length.

The group acknowledged each other’s efforts and contribution towards finding a political settlement for the Naga people; they resolved to strengthen the on-going Indo-Naga peace talk and seek an ‘honourable, acceptable, early and lasting solution’.

The statement also said that the reconciliation and unity within the Naga family must be respected. It resolved to make an effort to bring together all the Naga political groups, this the statement says must be “pursued with all seriousness in the larger political interest of the Naga people and her posterity”.
