Imphal: In the last 24 hours, Manipur has reported three more persons who tested positive for COVID-19 succumbed to the virus, pushing the total deaths in the state to 32.
As per the COVID-19 Common Control Room, three persons, all male and aged 35, 61 and 65 years, has expired at Shija, JNIMS and RIMS Hospitals in Imphal, respectively. The victims who died due to COVID-19 were from Bishnupur, Thoubal and Imphal East districts and they were also suffering from other multiple health issues, it said.
Another 102 fresh cases were detected as COVID-19 positive on Thursday, in which 27 are from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 75 persons from the general population.
They were tested positive from VRDL JNIMS, VRDL RIMS, RIMS RAT, JNIMS TrueNat, Tengnoupal, Jeevan Hospital, Raj Medicity, Thoubal, Babina Diagnostics, Kakching, Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Imphal East RAT.

According to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, all the 75 new cases from the general population do not have travel history and they were reported from Imphal West (11), Imphal East (11), Chandel (1), Bishnupur (4), Thoubal (20), Churachandpur (6), Kakching (2) and Tengnoupal (17) districts.
With this, the total confirmed cases in the state have soared to 6,609, including 4,980 from the general population and 1,629 security personnel.
With 167 infected persons recovered in the last 24 hours, the recovery rate in the state is now stood at 72.23 per cent.
As many as 4,774 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease and another 1,803 remained as active cases.
