South Korean electronics giant Samsung has officially announced that it will unveil the galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone next week. The product would be showcased during an event held online due to COVID-19 pandemic.

“Join us on September 1 for Galaxy Z Fold2: Unpacked Part 2 to explore in depth the groundbreaking features of the Galaxy Z Fold2 Event will be available at Samsung.com and news.samsung.com/in/ at 10 a.m. ET or 07:30 p.m. IST,” said Samsung earlier in a statement.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 was first showcased at the Galaxy Unpacked online event held on 5th August, however, the detailed specifications and price of the phone was not made official.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the upgraded version of Samsung’s original foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, that was launched in 2019.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is packed with a 7.6-inch screen when unfolded, while having a 6.2-inch cover display, both larger than its predecessor Galaxy Fold’s 7.3-inch and 4.6-inch displays.

The phone comes with a 4,500 mAh battery and the Samsung will launch the phone in mystic black and mystic bronze colour.

Samsung added the initial “Z” for its foldable phone models under one brand. The Z lineup currently includes the Galaxy Z Flip which is a vertically folding phone.
