Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings were shaken by a series of events in the past few days, starting with as many as 13 members from their contingent, including two Indian players testing positive for the novel coronavirus, followed by the sudden exit of their star middle-order batsman Suresh Raina from the upcoming season.
The franchise, finally has some positives in their way now, as they are all set to start their training from September 4, after having an extended week of quarantine. However, this date is subject to the team clearing two additional Covid-19 tests, made mandatory by the IPL, following the COVID scare in the CSK camp.
The members of the camp already tested negative in the first of the two additional tests, conducted on Monday. The second test will be conducted on September 3, following which they can start their training, given everyone tests negative. Chennai Super Kings CEO, Kasi Vishwanathan confirmed the same.

The members of the camp who had tested positive for the deadly virus last week are put up in a separate hotel and are not a part of these fresh tests. They will undergo two fresh tests only after their mandatory two-week quarantine before they can join the squad.
The Chennai Super Kings will be the last team to start their training after being forced to extend their quarantine period. All the other teams have already started their training sessions after completing a week of mandatory quarantine.
