Kohima: Another 46 cases of COVID-19 were detected in the state on Saturday, taking the state’s tally to 3,851. Among the new cases, 44 are from Kohima and one each from Mon and Phek.
Among the new COVID-19 cases, 20 are returnees, of which 19 are from Kohima and one is from Phek, 13 are frontline workers, of which 12 are from Kohima and one is from Mon, 10 are armed forces personnel from Kohima, and three are through traced contacts from Kohima.
Meanwhile, another 50 persons recovered from COVID-19 on Saturday. Among the new recovered cases, 37 are from Kohima, 10 are from Dimapur, two from Wokha and one from Tuensang.
Overall, 1,633 cases are from the armed forces, 1,244 cases are returnees, 278 cases are frontline workers and 696 cases are through traced contacts.

As per the severity of symptoms, 915 active cases are asymptomatic, nine active cases are mild–seven from Dimapur and one each from Kohima and Mon, and one active case from Dimapur is moderate symptomatic.
A total of 37,516 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 35,991 samples have been received. On Truenat results for 22,753 samples have been received and through Rapid Antigen Test, 669 results have been received. The total number of samples for which results have been received till now are 59,413.
A total of 1,203 persons are presently under facility quarantine.
As per the health and family welfare’s weekly bulletin, the positivity rate is 6.47%, which is lower than the country’s rate of 8.57%. The testing per thousand population is slightly below the country’s average.
In the past week, the recovery rate has improved to 75 % from 57% last week which is equivalent to India’s recovery rate of 76 %.
A total of 16,530 contacts have been traced by the surveillance teams out of which 5716 are primary contacts. The median age for the COVID-19 cases is 32 years with a range from five months to 93 years.
0.42 % of the cases have comorbidities. Armed force personnel contribute to maximum of the positive cases. A total of 82% of the cases are males. As per the districts, 50 % cases are from Dimapur, followed by Kohima at 23 %.
