Guwahati: Sitting in the same class with a celebrity is a pipe dream for many and students in the English Hons course of Kolkata’s Asutosh College are in for a surprise. Bollywood actor Sunny Leone’s name has made it to the top of the merit list for admission to the undergraduate English Hons course.

Asutosh College had posted its first merit list for admission to BA (Honours) in English on Thursday on their website. To everyone’s surprise, the Bollywood celeb’s name topped the chart. Along with Leone’s name, a perfect score of 400 in the best four subjects in Class XII board exams also found its mention in the merit list.

This even caught the eye of the actor who then gave a cheeky remark on her Twitter handle. She wrote, “See you all in college next semester!!! Hope your in my class ;)”

The reality, however, is not all glitz and glam as the college administration authorities admitted the faux pas. According to them, someone deliberately submitted a wrong application having typed the actor’s name. They have already asked the admission department to correct it and that they will also conduct an inquiry into the matter.

Later in the evening, the admission section changed the name from Sunny Leone to ABC while the details remained the same.

This is also not the first goof up with Leone’s name as last year a TV anchor instead of saying Sunny Deol said Sunny Leone was leading the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. To which, Leone replied in a tweet, “Leading by How many votes????”
