Manipur has reported 5,725 positive cases so far

Imphal: Another 140 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur on Thursday, of which 18 are from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

Of the 122 from the general population, 75 are male and the remaining 47 are female. They are from the districts of Imphal West (85), Imphal East (10), Thoubal (8), Chandel (6), Kangpokpi (5), Bishnupur (4), Churachandpur (2), Ukhrul (1) and Senapati (1).

According to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, only three returnees from other states tested positive in the last 24 hours, while 119 patients do not travel history.

All of them have been shifted to COVID-19 Care Centers for further observation, he said.

With this, the total persons tested positive for the coronavirus in the state is 5,725, of which 4,251 are from the general population and 1,474 are security personnel.

Meanwhile, as many as 128 COVID-19 patients recovered and discharged from various hospitals and facilities. The recovery rate is 69.11 per cent.

So far, 3,957 persons have recovered from the viral infectioin and 1,743 people are still active.
