Kohima: Another 16 persons from Nagaland tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday taking the state’s total number for confirmed cases to 3,635. Among the new cases, nine are security force personnel, three each are from among the returnees and traced contacts and one frontline worker from Kohima.
Out of the nine armed force personnel, eight are from Kohima and one is from Wokha. Among the returnees, two are from Tuensang and one is from Longleng. All three traced contacts who tested positive are from Kohima.
This means that a total of 12 new cases have been reported from Kohima, two new cases from Tuensang, and one each from Wokha and Longleng. The 16 new cases have been reported out of 723 samples that were tested.

Meanwhile, another 92 COVID-19 patients recovered on Saturday. Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom took to Twitter to inform that among the new recoveries, 72 are from Kohima, 18 from Dimapur and two are from Peren.
“Update! State reports 92 recoveries of COVID-19 patients. 72 from Kohima, 18 from Dimapur & 2 from Peren. However, all recovered patients shall be kept under surveillance,” the minister tweeted.
