Kohima: Even as 25 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state on Thursday, the number of recovered cases surpassed the number of active cases as a total of 215 COVID-19 patients were discharged.

Among the new COVID-19 cases, 15 are from Dimapur, nine are from Kohima and one is from Mon. Nagaland also witnessed one of the highest recovered cases on a single day as 215 COVID-19 patients were discharged on Thursday.

Among the new recovered cases, 192 are from Dimapur, 21 are from Kohima and two from Zunheboto. Earlier on August 6 and 18, a total of 134 new recovered cases of COVID-19 were recorded on a single day, which were the highest single-day recoveries.

With this, the recovery cases in the state surpassed the number of active cases. The recovery rate in Nagaland is currently at 53.61%.

Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom had taken to Twitter to inform about the new COVID-19 status.

“Update! 25 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed out of 827 samples tested. 15 in Dimapur, 9 in Kohima & 1 in Mon.

Also State reports 215 recoveries of COVID-19 Positive patients. 192 in Dimapur, 21 in Kohima & 2 in Zunheboto, the minister tweeted.”

Death: 7 (One death is COVID-19 but not due to COVID-19. Therefore, not reflected in the tally)
