Pvt schools in Assam to waive off 25% fees during COVID-19 outbreak
The government of Assam has issued a circular stating that all private schools must waive off 25% of school fees for this year. According to the circular, school fees will be waived off for the students of pre-primary to Class XII in private schools.
The circular was also tweeted by Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stating that the reduction of fees will be applicable from May 1, 2020 till the formal and physical reopening of schools in the state. READ MORE
Total COVID-19 cases soar to 2,526,193 in India
The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 2,526,193 on Saturday (August 15), as of 8 am, with the death toll standing at 49,036.
According to the latest updates provided by the Union health ministry, there are 668,220 active cases with 49,036 deaths so far in the country. As many as 1,808,936 patients have been cured or discharged and one has migrated.
