Imphal: The total positive cases of COVID-19 in Manipur reached 3,853 with 100 more persons, including 43 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), were infected to the virus on Monday.
Of the cumulative number of confirmed positive cases, 2,977 are from the general population, and 876 are the central security personnel.
They were tested at VRDLS of RIMS (38) and JNIMS (18), Babina Diagnostics (1), Imphal West Rapid Antigen Testing (21), Kamjong (2), Ukhrul (18), Raj Medicity TrueNat (1) and Kakching (1), said in a statement issued by additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.
Of the latest 57 cases from the general population, 34 persons are from Imphal West, Thoubal (1), Senapati (1), Kangpokpi (1), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (2), Imphal East (6), Kakching (2) and Kamjong (9).
Except for the seven returnees belong to the districts of Imphal East (1), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (1), Imphal West (1) and Senapati (1), the remaining 50 of them have no history of travelling outside the state and have been found tested positive for the virus, said Dr Mangang.
In the last 24 hours, 78 infected persons, including 15 CRPF, have recovered. They were discharged from CRPF, RIMS, JNIMS, COVID-19 Care Centre of Meitram, Senapati, Thoubal, Kasom, Churachandpur, district hospital of Thoubal and RD Wing in Imphal based on the RT PCR negative test result.
So far, a total number of recovered is 2,122, in which 1,972 are locals from the general population, and 150 are security personnel. The recovery rate in the state is 55.07 per cent.
Also, 1,720 persons infected with the virus are undergoing treatment, of which 994 are from the general population, and 726 are security personnel.
