Former president of India, Pranab Mukherjee has tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
He visited the hospital to for some other health issues, and upon COVID testing, he was found positive.
Taking to Twitter, he said, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19.”
The veteran politician who was India’s president between 2012 and 2017, joins the league of several leaders like Union home minister Amit Shah, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan among others who have contracted the virus.
