Itanagar: As a precautionary measure for the upcoming Arunachal Legislative Assembly session, all the members, officers and staff of Assembly Secretariat and security personnel on duty will have to undergo compulsory antigen test.
State Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona on Monday convened a meeting with officers from the health department, district administration, police, municipal council, ITBP and Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) regarding planning and arrangements to be made for ensuing fifth session of seventh legislative assembly scheduled to be held from August 27 to August 29.
In the meeting, detailed Covid-19 SOPs and security related arrangements during the assembly session were discussed, and the decision regarding the antigen test was taken.
Stressing on the strict adherence to COVID-19 SOPs, the Speaker said that the effort should not be only to detect the possible positive cases but also to stop its spread. He urged upon departments concerned to sanitize the Assembly Secretariat during and after the session regularly.
Meanwhile, to test the MLAs and others, the health department will set up a COVID-19 testing kiosk at state assembly premises.
