Kohima: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Nagaland stood at 32.50% as another 11 persons tested negative for COVID-19 on Sunday. Out of the new recovered cases, six are from Phek, four from Wokha and one is from Kohima.
A major cause for the lesser recovery rate in the state according to health department is because of the stricter policy of discharge in the state where a negative test is still mandatory.
With the addition of the 11 new recovered cases, the total number of recovered cases has increased to 904. As reported earlier, 93 new cases of COVID-19 were detected on Sunday which took the total number of positive cases in the state to 2,781.
As many as 42 armed forces personnel, 16 returnees, 28 traced contacts and seven frontline workers had tested positive on Sunday. Out of the 42 armed forces, 25 are from Dimapur, nine from Kohima and eight are from Peren.
Among the returnees, 12 are from Dimapur, two are from Mon and one each is from Kohima and Zunheboto. Eighteen persons from Dimapur and 10 from Kohima are among the traced contacts. All seven frontline workers who tested positive are from Dimapur.
Principal Secretary home Abhijit Sinha informed that the patients are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection, he said.
Overall, a total of 1226 armed forces, 1072 returnees, 196 frontline workers, 233 traced contacts and 54 others have tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.
Meanwhile, one more COVID-19 related death have been confirmed in the state. Although a total of eight deaths have been reported so far, only seven deaths are established as due to COVID-19. One death is COVID-19 positive but is not due to COVID-19.

As per the severity of symptoms for the active cases, 1,863 active cases are asymptomatic, one active case from Dimapur is mild symptomatic and two active from Dimapur cases are moderate symptomatic.
A total of 28,722 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR till now and results of 26,962 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 18,659 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. A total of 2,032 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
