Kohima: A total of 31 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland on Saturday. The total number of confirmed cases spiked to 2,688 with the addition of the new cases.
Out of the 31 new cases, 12 are from Kohima, 10 are from Dimapur, six from Zunheboto and three from Wokha. The new samples were declared as positive out of 607 samples that were tested.
Health minister S Pangnyu Phom informed that contact tracing is fully put in force and that all primary contacts are kept under self isolation to avoid further transmission.

Meanwhile, an elderly couple from Phek district who were infected with COVID-19 have recovered after testing negative for COVID-19 on Saturday. Nodal officer ISDP, health and family welfare, Dr Nyanthung informed that the couple — 93-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife have recovered from COVID-19.
The couple was later discharged from the COVID-19 hospital in Phek in the presence of the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police. The 93 year old man is said to the oldest COVID-19 patient in the state till date.
