Guwahati: Three persons sustained injuries, two of them seriously, when a ‘wild’ boar attacked them inside the premises of the Guwahati Press Club (GPC) and state directorate of archaeology in Guwahati, Assam on Saturday morning.
Sources in the GPC informed that Rajendar Basfor, an employee of the GPC, sustained injuries in his stomach when the wild boar attacked him. He has been shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), the sources said.
According to footage obtained from a CCTV camera in the premises, Basfor was busy wit’s his regular cleaning work of the GPC along with one of his colleagues when the boat coming from the premises of the state directorate of archaeology attacked him.
While returning to the state directorate of archaeology, the wild boar attacked two persons, identified as Karuna Barman and Mokleb Ali.
Barman’s condition is stated to be serious as he reportedly sustained serious injuries in his stomach. Both are reportedly admitted at the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati.
The incident took place around 8.10 am on Saturday.
Eye witnesses informed that after attacking the persons, the animal entered the premises of the directorate of archaeology.
Search operation is on to catch the boar. However, how and where from the wild boar entered the premises of the otherwise two organisations, located at the heart of the city, is yet to be known.
