Kohima: The official residence of the Nagaland minister of health and family welfare S Pangnyu Phom has been sealed after staffers tested positive for COVID-19. The minister is under self-isolation and will continue to work from home.
Taking to Twitter, Phom informed that some supporting staff, two bodyguards and four house guards attached to the minister have tested positive for COVID-19 and all precautionary measures have been taken as per the SOPs.
“Some of the supporting staffs, 2 bodyguards & 4 house guards have been detected +ve of COVID-19. Have taken necessary precautionary measures and my official residence has been sealed as per the SOPs. I will be under self isolation, however will continue to work from home,” Phom tweeted.
Meanwhile, a close aid of the minister told EastMojo that Phom have tested negative for COVID-19. The staffers who tested positive for COVID-19 were shifted to the covid care centre earlier on Thursday, the source informed.
Advisor to Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Women Resource Development R Khing also informed that he re-tested as negative for COVID-19.

On July 29, Advisor to the Department of Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan took to twitter to inform that he tested positive for COVID-19. The legislator has since been put under home isolation.
