Guwahati: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the grand construction of the Ram Temple on Wednesday, actors of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan serial welcomed the bhoomi pujan ceremony in their own way.
Govil, who portrayed the character of Ram in the popular series of yesteryear, took to Twitter to voice out his reactions. Not to be left behind, Lahri, who is known for his portrayal of Lakshman in the series, shared two pictures on Twitter. One was a picture of himself and the other the model of Ram Temple. He too wrote in Hindi, which loosely translated as, “August 5 is a historical day and like August 15 this day will also be remembered in the history of India. This laying of the foundation stone is the resolution to a 500-year-old problem. Congratulations to all Indians and best wishes. Jai Siyaram.”
Meanwhile, PM Modi while laying the foundation stone on Wednesday said, “With the construction of the grand Ram Temple, not only history is being made, but is being repeated. The way boatmen to tribals helped Lord Rama, the way children helped Lord Krishna lift Govardhan mountain, similarly, with everyone’s efforts of temple construction will be completed.” He also said that Lord Ram resides in all our hearts of and hence he believes that the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya will reflect the rich heritage of Indian culture.
“We’ll have to remember that whenever mankind believed in Lord Rama, progress took place. Whenever we deviated from path, doors to destruction opened. We’ll have to keep everyone’s sentiments in mind. We’ve to ensure everyone’s development with support and trust of all,” he added.
