New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has now been discharged from Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital, where he was being treated for novel coronavirus, after a 23-day stay.
The actor announced that he was COVID-19 positive on July 11 and that he was with his son Abhishek Bachchan. Later, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also tested positive for COVID-19 and was moved to a hospital a week later. She was discharged on July 27.
Taking to Twitter, the Big B wrote, “T 3613 – I have tested CoVid- have been discharged. I am back home in solitary quarantine. Grace of the Almighty, blessings of Ma Babuji, prayers & duas of near & dear & friends fans EF .. and the excellent care and nursing at Nanavati made it possible for me to see this day .”
Even Abhisekh tweeted, “My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him.”
Authorities from Nanavati Hospital stated that both Amitabh and Abhisekh showed mild symptoms of COVID-19 and were kept in isolation wards. The family residence Jalsa in Mumbai was sealed by Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC). Additionally, the other three bungalows also owned by Bachchans were sealed and all 30 member staff at the properties were tested for COVID-19. Jalsa was unsealed on July 26.
