Nagaland records new biggest single-day spike; 130 more test COVID positive
Just a day after the state reported 127 new cases of COVID-19, Nagaland recorded another biggest single day-spike as 130 new cases were detected in the state on Saturday.
The state’s tally is now nearing the 2,000-mark as it hit 1,823 in less than 70 days, since the first cases of COVID-19 were detected in the state on May 25. The new cases were reported out of 552 sample results that were received. READ MORE

Total COVID-19 cases soar to 1,695,989 in India
The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 1,695,989 on Saturday (August 1), as of 8 am, with the death toll standing at 36,511.
According to the latest updates provided by the Union health ministry, there are 565,103 active cases with 36,511 deaths so far in the country. As many as 1,094,374 patients have been cured or discharged and one has migrated.
