The number of positive cases spiked to 1693

Kohima: One more person tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, adding to the 126 new cases reported during the day. In total, 127 new cases have been reported making it the highest single-day spike in the state.

The new case was reported from Dimapur. Earlier, 95 persons from Dimapur and 31 from Kohima have tested positive for COVID-19. With the addition of the new case, Dimapur has reported a total of 96 new cases. The total number of confirmed cases in the state has spiked to 1693.

In just two days, Nagaland reported 180 new cases out of which 77 are armed forces, 53 are frontline workers, 25 are returnees, 11 are through traced contacts and 14 others which includes cases related to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) and patients excluding returnees.

Ten more persons have also recovered from COVID-19, increasing the number of recovered cases to 635. Eight persons from Peren and two persons from Mokchung have recovered. The present recovery rate in the state is 37.51%.

Confirmed: 1693

Active: 1052

Recovered: 635

Death: 4

Six deaths have been reported from Dimapur. However, only four deaths are confirmed as due to COVID-19. One death is COVID-19 positive but not due to Covid-19. One death had co-morbidities and tested COVID-19 positive but the cause of death is still under investigation.

All 1052 active cases are asymptomatic as per the severity of symptoms.
