1513 total COVID-19 cases reported in the state so far

Kohima: Although 53 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state on Wednesday taking the state’s toll to 1513 confirmed cases, 18 more persons have recovered from COVID-19 increasing the number of COVID-19 cases to 595.

However, active cases continue to surpass the number of recovered cases, and the current recovery rate is at 39%. Out of the 18 persons who recovered, 10 are from Peren, four from Tuensang, two from Mon, and one each from Kohima and Phek.

Meanwhile out of the 53 new cases reported today, 26 are armed forces, seven are frontline workers, three are traced contacts, one is a returnee, and 16 others outside the quarantine centre have tested positive on Wednesday.

Out of the total of 1513 confirmed cases, 872 are returnees, 489 are armed forces, 65 are frontline workers, 70 are traced contacts and 17 others have tested positive.

The COVID-19 status as on Wednesday is:

Confirmed: 1513

Active: 913

Recovered: 595

Death: 4

As per the severity of symptoms, all 913 active cases are asymptomatic. As per the gender based distribution out of the total confirmed cases, 1238 are male and 275 are female. As per the age wise distribution of the total confirmed cases, 33 are between 0-17 years, 1328 between 18-44 years, 144 between 45-64 years, four between 65-74 years, and four above the age of 75.

The present active cases as per the districts are: Dimapur with 404; Kohima with 300; Longleng with 1 case; Mokokchung with 8; Mon with 138; Peren with 30; Phek with 13; Tuensang with 4; Wokha with 7; Zunheboto with 8.

Till date, a total of 22,766 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 21,009 samples have been received. Out of the 15,990 samples received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 14,024 samples have been tested and 1,030 samples have tested positive.

In addition, a total of 15,580 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and 535 samples have tested positive, which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. A total of 2,451 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine, informed Principal Secretary Home Abhijit Sinha.
