The trio admitted to have committed the crime of assaulting the drivers on the night of July 4 and July 9.

Kohima: Kohima Police arrested three persons for allegedly assaulting two LPG truck drivers in Kohima on July 4 and July 9. An official update from the Kohima Police PRO said that three persons in connection with Kohima North PS Case No.0027/2020 u/s 384/392/ 327/34 IPC. It said that after two drivers of LPG Truck which was parked below Belho Gas Service godown in Kohima were assaulted July 4 and July 9.

The police informed that the mobile phones of the drivers were snatched away. Following the incidents, a team of Kohima Police led by SDPO (North) apprehended all the three miscreants from Paramedical, Kohima on Thursday.

The arrested accused persons were identified as Medophretuo Medeo (29), son of Vichütuo Medeo of Khulazu Bawe village under Phek district; Pipenthung Humtsoe (29), son of Rabenthung Humtsoe, of Pongitong village under Wokha district; and Seyievilhou Phesao (26), son of Chekrosayi Phesao, of Chozuba village under Phek district. All three persons are said to presently residing in Paramedical Colony, Kohima.

The police claim that the accused have admitted to assaulting the drivers below Belho Gas Service godown on NH29 on the intervening night of July 4 and July 9. All the accused have sent to 48 hours of police custody for further interrogation.
