Manipur: Doctor tests COVID-19 positive in Senapati, district hospital closed
Following the reports of a medical officer at Senapati district hospital in Manipur testing positive on Friday, deputy commissioner Lalithambigai K issued an order for the immediate closure of the hospital over its normal functioning until further notice.
The physician identified as Dr Mustaque working at the district hospital had tested for COVID-19 positive through Rapid Antigen Testing kit. READ MORE

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. Chouhan is the first head of state to test positive for the novel coronavirus in India.
Informing about the same, Chouhan tweeted: “My dear countrymen, I was having COVID-19 symptoms, after testing, my reports have came back positive. Assam govt reduces home quarantine period to 7 days after COVID-19 recovery
The Assam government in a recent order has announced to reduce the home quarantine period of COVID-19 recovered patients discharged from hospital to just seven days.
The people who recovered from COVID-19 in hospital and were discharged were earlier mandated to undergo a 14-day home quarantine before they could come out in public again. READ MORE
Total COVID-19 cases soar to 1,336,861 in India
The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 1,336,861 on Friday (July 25), as of 8 am, with the death toll standing at 31,358.
According to the latest updates provided by the Union health ministry, there are 456,071 active cases with 31,358 deaths so far in the country. As many as 849,431 patients have been cured or discharged and one has migrated.
