COVID-19 cases have spiked to 1,030 in Nagaland

Kohima: Nine more persons tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday taking the state’s toll to 1,030. Out of the nine fresh cases, six persons are from Dimapur, two from Mon and one from Peren.

Taking to Twitter, health minister S Pangnyu Phom wrote: “Update! Out of 239 samples tested, 9 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. 6 in Dimapur, 2 in Mon & 1 in Peren.”

The new cases were reported out of 239 samples that were sent for testing. Meanwhile, a late update from the directorate of health & family welfare on Monday showed that a total of 39 persons have recovered from COVID-19.

The present status of COVID-19 in the state is:

Confirmed: 1030

Active: 546

Recovered: 484

Death: 0

A total of 18,668 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR till Monday and the results of 17,971 samples were received.

On Monday, out of the total of 537 active cases, 533 were asymptomatic, two were mild symptomatic, one was mild symptomatic and one was Critical in the ICU with ventilator.

The addition of the nine new cases of COVID-19 has increased the number of active cases to 546. The health condition of the new cases could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
