Guwahati: Amid the increasing devastation of flood, erosion and COVID-19 pandemic in Assam, two Bollywood celebrities have appealed the people to extended their helping hand for the flood-hit masses of the state.
Actors John Abraham and Varun Dhawan took to their social media accounts to create awareness among the masses to provide aid to the people affected in the Assam floods.
Till date, 84 persons have lost their lives due to the devastation of the floods in Assam. The river water of Brahmaputra is flowing over the danger level at various places. These floodwaters are causing devastation in the form of loss of lives, property, and animals alike.

With over 3.1 million followers on Twitter, Abraham put up a post in his handle with some pictures that shows the disturbing reality of the Assam flood. He even added the Assam government’s “Donate to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund” link so that interested individuals can provide help in the form of a monetary donation. He wrote, “Assam needs help…. Urgent”

Actor Varun Dhawan was also not far behind as he too put up a call for help in his Instagram story. There he posted a picture of houses submerged and wrote, “Assam needs our help” with the CM relief fund link attached in the “Swipe Up” option. Dhawan has over 30 million followers in his Instagram profile.
