Kohima: Nagaland recorded a slight increase in COVID-19 recovery rate on Saturday after 27 more patients recovered from COVID-19. The current recovery rate is now at 44.17%, as compared to 42.36% on Friday.
As reported earlier, a total of 22 new cases were reported on Saturday taking the total number of confirmed cases to the 1,000-mark tally. Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio also took to Twitter to inform that he had tested negative for COVID-19.
“I have tested negative for #COVID19. However, I will continue to be vigilant, take all necessary precautions and complete the quarantine period,” the chief minister tweeted.
As on Saturday, the status of COVID-19 in Nagaland is:
Out of the 978 total confirmed cases, 700 are returnees from outside the state, 240 persons are armed forces, 28 persons are frontline workers and 10 persons are through traced contacts. As per the age wise distribution, 77.4% are male and 22.6% are female.
Principal secretary home Abhijit Sinha informed that all patients who tested are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Out of the 978 positive cases, the total active cases are 546, and 432 have recovered. As per the severity of symptoms, 543 active cases are asymptomatic, two active cases are mild, and one active case is moderate.
Till date, a total of 18,331 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR. Results of 17,438 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 11,998 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. 11,279 samples tested negative, and 361 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. A total of 2,918 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
