Actor Ankita Lokhande approached Ekta Kapoor to make a second season for ‘Pavitra Rishta’ as a tribute to the late actor, said reports
New Delhi: Deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput's former partner, actor Ankit Lokhande, has reportedly approached television producer Ekta Kapoor to make a second season of Pavitra Rishta as a tribute to the late actor.
Singh and Lokhande had become a household name with their hit soap opera Pavitra Rishta during 2009, after which, Sushant left small screen to debut in Bollywood.
According to reports, a source said, "The show was close to Sushant’s heart as it gave him the platform to scale new heights and both Ekta and Ankita feel that a new season will be the best tribute to the deceased actor."
Ekta Kapoor said she would sit with her team of writers and explore how to take the show forward.
Singh ended his life on June 14 last month. He was found in his Mumbai residence, and no note was found. Following which, netizens called out Bollywood and star kids for nepotism.
Mumbai police interrogated several big names from Bollywood in connection with Sushant's death, including his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.
The trailer of his last movie Dil Bechara, based on John Green's book The Fault In Our Stars was launched recently. The movie will be launched on Disney+Hotstar and available for all to watch.
