Imphal: In the last 24 hours in Manipur, at least 11 more persons have tested COVID-19 positive at VRDLs of RIMS (4) and SDH laboratory Jiribam (7), taking the total tally to 1,593. There are five male and six female, said the official.

With this, the state has 750 active cases and 843 recovered.

The latest cases were detected from Jiribam with seven more cases, Ukhrul with three and one from Imphal West districts, said additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang.

They have been shifted to COVID-19 Care Facilities for observation and further necessary precautionary measures are in place, it said.

Also, another 11 persons recovered and were discharged from COVID-19 Care Center (CCC) of Meitram (1), Kamjong CCC (2) and Ukhrul CCC (8) after their samples were tested negative on RT PCR test.

Now, the recovery rate in the state is 52.91%, said Dr Mangang.

On Friday, Manipur recorded the single-highest spike with 132 cases, including one doctor who was part of COVID-19 treatment team from JNIMS and an attendant from RIMS.

As on July 11, a total of 2,99,657 persons have screened and 61,897 samples have been tested for coronavirus.
