The Meterological Department in Nepal has predicted more rainfall in the next three days.

New Delhi: In multiple landslides that occurred in western Nepal, at least 12 people were killed and 19 others were missing, said police reports.

Seven people lost their lives in landslides that occurred at Sarangkot and Hemjan areas of Pokhora in Kaski district. Three of them were children who were killed when a landslide swept away a house in Sarangkot area on Friday.

Ten others were injured in the same incident and are now being treated at different hospitals in the district, say reports.

In two other incidents on July 9, three members of a family were killed in a landslide at Besishahar of Lamjung district and two others died in Aathbiskot area of Rukum district. Also, 12 people went missing after houses were swept away in a landslide in Jajorkot district of Nepal.

Also, seven more people went missing after their house was wiped out by a landslide in Myagdi district. A landslide that occurred in Jogimara area has cut off the Prithi Higway in western Nepal.
