Member of the bomb disposal squad with the recovered IED

New Delhi: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing around 2.5 kg placed on the side of a bridge on Lekhapani-Ledo road in Tinsikia district of Assam was recovered by the Indian Army during a search operation that was carried out based on specific inputs.

The Army stepped up their vigil and launched a search operation in the area of Lekhapani after reports of subversive activities by insurgents.

On finding the IED, the army cordoned off the area and bomb disposal squad was called to the site.

The Indian Army’s bomb disposal squad on reaching the bomb site successfully neutralised the IED.

The disposal of the IED averted a major incident that could have led to the loss of lives and properties of many in the area.
